Creating a clear next-step message
A short message is more useful when the customer can immediately see what action is needed.
A practical approach
Lead with the requested action and explain why it matters. Include the relevant link or contact method and distinguish a deadline from a preferred response time. Avoid bundling unrelated requests into one message. Before sending, check whether the customer already completed the step so they are not asked to repeat it.
Put it into practice
- Lead with one action
- Explain the purpose
- Check for prior completion
