Defining when a sales handoff is complete
A sales team and an operations team may use the word complete differently unless they agree on an acceptance step.
A practical approach
Specify the required record, the receiving reviewer and the status that confirms acceptance. Explain what happens if information arrives after the handoff. Keep pending corrections visible to both teams. Completion should reflect the agreed process rather than the sender’s belief that enough information was probably included.
Put it into practice
- Define the receiving review
- Use an acceptance status
- Keep late information traceable
General workflow guidance. Confirm current responsibilities, availability and terms with the appropriate team. This article is not a project-specific technical assessment or a promise of compensation.
