Distinguishing activity from progress
A high activity count does not automatically mean the customer or project moved forward.
A practical approach
Define the events that represent meaningful progress in your process. Review whether a contact produced usable information, an agreed appointment or a resolved question. Keep attempts visible, but do not mix them with completed outcomes. This helps a manager understand whether the team needs more activity or a better-quality next step.
Put it into practice
- Define meaningful outcomes
- Separate attempts from completions
- Coach the actual bottleneck
