Managing overdue follow-ups

An overdue list becomes useful when each item receives a decision rather than another automatic date change.

A practical approach

Review whether the promised action is still appropriate, whether the owner is available and whether the customer has already been contacted elsewhere. Complete, reassign or reschedule the task with a reason. Keep genuine contact restrictions intact. Do not repeatedly reopen a declined opportunity just to clear an overdue reminder.

Put it into practice

  1. Check whether the action remains relevant
  2. Resolve ownership
  3. Record the reason for rescheduling

General workflow guidance. Confirm current responsibilities, availability and terms with the appropriate team. This article is not a project-specific technical assessment or a promise of compensation.
