Preserving a customer promise through reassignment
A change of owner should not erase an outstanding commitment to the homeowner.
A practical approach
Before reassignment, review the next promised contact, pending questions and deadlines. Have the receiving owner acknowledge the handoff in the approved workflow. Tell the customer when the primary contact changes. Avoid assuming that assigning a name in the system proves the person has reviewed the record.
Put it into practice
- Review outstanding commitments
- Obtain handoff acknowledgment
- Introduce the new contact
General workflow guidance. Confirm current responsibilities, availability and terms with the appropriate team. This article is not a project-specific technical assessment or a promise of compensation.
