Comparing two roofing measurement sources
Agreement between totals does not establish that two reports describe the same roof correctly.
A practical approach
Confirm that both sources cover the same building and roof sections. Compare face count, pitch, openings and edge classifications as well as area. Record differences for review instead of averaging the totals. A useful comparison identifies the source of disagreement so the final quantities rest on evidence.
Put it into practice
- Confirm identical building scope
- Compare geometry as well as area
- Investigate rather than average
