Keeping roof diagrams proportional
A diagram that stretches one dimension can mislead the reader even when the listed lengths are unchanged.
A practical approach
Check that the drawing uses the roof’s actual width-to-height relationship and that resizing preserves it. Compare the overview with the underlying measurements rather than relying on its appearance alone. Label any simplified linework clearly. Presentation cleanup should not silently move measured boundaries or alter the quantities used elsewhere in the report.
Put it into practice
- Preserve the drawing proportions
- Check against listed measurements
- Label simplified presentation
