Setting realistic early sales goals
Early goals should help a new rep learn the work while building consistent activity.
A practical approach
Agree on a manageable activity schedule and a few quality checks with your manager. Review whether notes are complete, appointments are properly handed off and questions are escalated. Treat an initial result as feedback, not proof of a long-term earnings level. Increase expectations when the underlying process is repeatable rather than after one unusually strong day.
Put it into practice
- Set process goals
- Review quality alongside activity
- Adjust after a full review period
