Explaining a proposal without reading every page aloud

A proposal conversation should make the decision understandable, not simply prove that every page was opened.

A practical approach

Begin with the customer’s goal, the proposed scope and the major choices. Use the document to support the explanation, then pause for questions. Identify where detailed terms are located and give the customer time to review them. Avoid skipping important limitations merely because they appear in an appendix or a longer section.

Put it into practice

  1. Lead with the decision
  2. Explain material limitations
  3. Leave time for questions

General workflow guidance. Confirm current responsibilities, availability and terms with the appropriate team. This article is not a project-specific technical assessment or a promise of compensation.
