Keeping proposal versions straight
A revised proposal can cause confusion if the customer and sales team are discussing different copies.
A practical approach
Use a visible revision identifier and date on each document. When sending an update, explain the material changes and identify which earlier copy it replaces. Keep the prior version in the project record where appropriate. Before discussing acceptance, confirm that everyone is reviewing the same scope and terms.
Put it into practice
- Show a revision identifier
- Summarize the changes
- Confirm the version under review
General workflow guidance. Confirm current responsibilities, availability and terms with the appropriate team. This article is not a project-specific technical assessment or a promise of compensation.
