Recognizing when a proposal is not ready
A polished document cannot make missing inputs disappear.
A practical approach
Check whether the scope, measurements and key assumptions have received the required review. If an unresolved item materially changes the offer, explain why the proposal remains preliminary. Use the appointment to clarify the customer’s goals if that is still useful. Do not request acceptance of a result you cannot accurately explain.
Put it into practice
- Check required review status
- Identify material unknowns
- Keep preliminary labels visible
