Responding to an unanswered technical question during a proposal
A question that needs a specialist should stay open until the appropriate review is complete.
A practical approach
Write the question in the customer’s terms and identify the information required to answer it. Assign an owner and a follow-up method. Continue discussing unaffected parts of the proposal only if that is useful to the homeowner. Do not imply that a likely answer has already been approved.
Put it into practice
- Capture the exact question
- Assign a qualified reviewer
- Keep the status visibly pending
General workflow guidance. Confirm current responsibilities, availability and terms with the appropriate team. This article is not a project-specific technical assessment or a promise of compensation.
